Why Join WNYDXA?
The Western New York DX Association is an amateur radio club with members from throughout Western New York and Southern Ontario. Its’ members enjoy the hobby of “Ham Radio” with an emphasis on DX-ing and contesting.
As a member of WNYDXA you’ll find that its’ friendly membership will help you get that special project done. All you need to do is ask when it comes time to:
· Install a new antenna or tower
· Install new computer software
· Get repair advice for your ham radio gear
· Exchange QSL information
· Spot DX stations on our W2DXA 2 meter repeater
· Clear up RFI issues. WNYDXA members and its’ RFI Kit may be just what you need
In addition to being a helpful bunch of hams, WNYDXA also has a variety of benefits and activities that will make your ham radio experience more fun and exciting.
· W2DXA: A 2 meter repeater where you can listen for DX Spots, “chew the rag” or set up a lunch date with your buddies. Check out 147.39+ with Encode & Decode tones of 88.5
· DX Packet Cluster: If you still get your DX Spots using Packet Radio then the KN2M Packet Cluster is for you. Connect on 145.03 Mhz. and get DX spots, propagation information, beam headings, sunrise/sunset information & much more
· Web Site: The web site is a handy spot to gain access to many amateur radio related tools and information.
· Monthly Newsletter: An email resource highlighting club activities and information
· Email Group: This communication tool supplements our web site and our newsletter. The group is another way to communicate with all club members, post photos of interest to other club members, check the club calendar and much more. · QSL Service: For a small fee, we ship your QSL cards to the ARRL bureau
· QSL Field Checking Service: One of our accredited members will check your QSL cards for ARRL DXCC credit.
· Monthly Meetings: Attend our monthly meetings and enjoy camaraderie with local Dx’ers. Our meetings are held the 2nd Friday of each month. They begin at 7:30 PM. at Denny’s Restaurant, 4610 Genesee Street near the Buffalo Airport. Come by early for a bite to eat and ragchew with fellow hams.
· Picnic: On the 2nd Friday of August the club has a grand picnic with all of the fixin’s
· Holiday Party: Come on out to our full of frivolity gift exchange
· Field Day Operating Event: The ARRL sponsored fun operating event of the year.
· International Light-House Operating Event: In August, join the fun at the Buffalo LH
